While I have always considered myself to be strong, cancer led me to discover a level of "Strength" I didn't know I had and I wanted to commemorate that with this tattoo.

Tattoos are meaningful in many ways but I wanted to design a piece that would spark a conversation yet share my journey wrapped in one. I wanted this tattoo to offer hope and remind others that FAITH can get you through even the scariest of times.
As someone who personally went through the terrors of cancer, you can truly raise awareness through your body and words. You are a pillar of hope for those still afflicted by cancer and a critical point of information for those who aren’t.
My tattoo is healing nicely and I've had to explain myself to many about the importance of it! When you hear the words "You have Cancer" regardless of what type or stage....it's like being hit with an emotional silence and you can't seem to breathe. It's the feeling you get when you've injured yourself and your body automatically drops your heart into your stomach because you know it's not good. Thyroid Cancer is a bit different...it's looked at as the "Good Cancer" because of the survival rate and treatment...on paper it's looks good but dealing with it in your body-lets just says it's a totally different story. l find myself breathing in deep breaths of appreciation in all the small things I get to do each day.
Learning to live after a cancer diagnosis is one of the hardest things to have to do, so I️ chose this tattoo as a reminder to really live life to the fullest and to remember that THE CROSS HAS THE FINAL WORD! I have discovered that the comfort we receive only comes by looking into the eternal Word of God. It’s here that we rediscover and reclaim the unchanging promises of God and those portions of Scripture that we can apply to our own personal lives which help us face times of personal crisis and hurt – even cancer. Today is World Cancer Day and I encourage you to educate yourself, take steps of early detection and support those who are facing this battle. Today we unite all types of cancer and come together to raise awareness and offer support.
For me- My journey has been sweet reminder that God is near and in his arms- I am safe, loved and made whole. I pray whatever your facing in life....you can get to a point of surrender and know that the foot of the cross is level.....THE CROSS HAS THE FINAL WORD! I'm beating Thyroid Cancer because I know God has the final say and my future is in His hands. If you don't know Jesus and need hope- reach out.
Stay Joyful. Be Still and let the Lord fight for you! The Cross has the FINAL Word!
The song that is my BATTLE CRY!
